Skate is our skateboarding / roller blading / BMXing venue. It's literally packed full of half pipes, fun boxes and grind rails. There is also a cafe and massive sound system. So if you are a part of the skater scene, would like to be involved with the Skate team and you enjoy befriending, encouraging and sharing the gospel with young people, then this is the team for you.
You will have to supply your own accommodation but in return for your hard work we will provide all your meals (beginning on the evening day 1 to the evening of day 5) – what more could you want!
How old do I have to be?
The minimum age is 18.
What will my days look like?
The Skate team are on duty whenever the sports venue is open. You will work on a shift pattern covering the opening hours, 1pm-6pm and 9.30pm-11.30pm (there will also be minimal set up and pack down time). You will spend your time chatting to delegates, supervising registration, making sure health and safety procedures are kept to and maybe even passing on some of your own skating tricks to the delegates!
When will I need to be on site?
Day 1 to midnight Day 5! There’s a meeting on Day 1 for all teams in the early afternoon followed by an individual team meeting where you’ll meet your lovely team leaders and pick up your wristband! The times for these meetings will be confirmed closer to the summer but as long as you are there early afternoon you will be fine.
Do I need anything extra to be on this team?
You should have an interest in skating/blading and enough ability to be able to teach a beginner the very basics.
