saturday celebrations

There’s nothing we like more than spending time worshipping God, looking at what the Bible has to say to us today, and waiting on the Holy Spirit, and that’s what our Saturday Celebrations are all about!  There’s no need to book and it’s free to come along but we do take up a collection to cover costs. We hope you can come and join us!

dates, times and location

7th February - this is going to be a candlelit celebration held at St Albans Abbey in Hertfordshire (AL1 1BY) - see below for more info

21st March

23rd May

27th June

Times: The 5pm celebration usually finishes around 7pm, and the 8pm celebration wraps up around 10pm.

Please note: Because space is tight we're only allowing people to attend one of the two sessions at each celebration. It will be the same talk at both so you won't be missing out on anything!

Cost: Each celebration is free! We do take up a collection during each session to help towards our costs and sometimes to go towards a charity (which we will detail on the day) but this is entirely voluntary.

Venue: Soul Survivor Watford warehouse, 5 Greycaine Rd Watford, WD24 7GP.

All ages are welcome!

special celebration

On Saturday 7th February we'll be holding a very special Celebration in the fantastic St Albans Abbey. From 6.30pm to 8.30pm we'll be joining together from all over the country for worship, teaching and ministry. Mike and Andy will be hosting and Tom Smith will be leading us in candlelit and acoustic worship.

Be sure to get there nice and early as we hope to fill this historic venue with thousands of you lovely lot!

The practical bits

As St Albans Abbey is over 1,000 years old there are quite a few mod cons that the designers didn't have in mind when building it, so here's the low down:

There is no parking available at the Abbey itself but there are a number of public car parks in the city that are just a short walk away (check out the image below for more info). If you're planning on coming by coach, there is a drop off spot just outside the front of the Abbey but coaches must then move on and find parking elsewhere.

St Albans is nicely situated close to the A1, M1 and M25 and the Abbey is in the town centre just off Holywell Hill. As it's a weekend we expect St Albans to be quite busy so unless you're arriving as part of a coach drop off, we'd suggest parking further out from the city centre and embracing the opporuntity for a brisk winter walk.

Here's the fun part. Back in the day if you needed to go, you went. In the 21st Century we much prefer to do our business in the confines of a toilet, unfortunately the Abbey doesn't have many loos so we're advising that you take the opportunity to go beforehand! The toilets available will be signposted.

It wouldn't be a Soul Survivor event if we didn't sit on the floor! However, in the Abbey we don't have the plush carpets we're used to, so you might want to bring a comfy jumper or bulky jacket to cushion your posterior!

The blue directions are for The Verulamium which is a 15 minute walk to the Abbey. Parking costs £1.50 for 3 hours and is free after 6.30pm. There are 150 spaces, 3 for people with disabilities.

The red directions are for Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre which is a 15 minute walk away as well. Parking costs £4 for 4 hours and is also free after 6.30pm. There are 325 spaces, 29 for people with disabilities, and 4 coach spaces.

We put all the teaching from our Saturday Celebrations up on Soundcloud and some on YouTube, so everyone can laugh at Mike's latest haircut...
