Worship is at the heart of being a Christian and therefore at the heart of all we do at Soul Survivor. Jesus said the most important command is that we love God with all our hearts and there are loads of ways we can show God our love, especially through the way we live our lives. When we gather together we sing our praises to tell God how amazing he is (just like we read in the Bible that God’s people have done through the ages) but we think this is more than just singing songs. We believe worship is a place where we can draw close to God and be intimate with him. Often as we focus on who God is and all he’s done for us, we find that we receive more of his love too. Isn’t that amazing?!
If you want to check out some of the worship from 2015, take a listen to our live album ‘Love Takes Over’.
The Bible has loads to teach us about who God is, how he has led his people through the ages, how much he loves us, and how he wants us to live as his followers. Sometimes we can struggle to understand it on our own so we make time to look at God’s word together and hear from speakers who will help us apply what we read in the Bible to the things that are happening in our lives and in the world around us. If you think Bible teaching is a bit boring we hope we’ll be able to change your mind pretty quickly! The talks are often a lot of fun and our aim is to inspire and equip you, not leave you snoring on your neighbour’s shoulder.
We want to live in God’s power and that means we need to spend time in his presence. During ministry times we make space to wait on the Holy Spirit, asking God to meet with us and do what he wants to do. As Christians the Holy Spirit is always living in us but in these times we’re inviting him to heal us physically and/or emotionally from things that have hurt us; to equip and empower us to live for him in our everyday lives, to give us his gifts, and to give us a greater understanding of who God is. If you’re not used to praying in this way, don’t worry, Mike and the team will talk you through what’s going on, how to receive and how to pray. We really encourage you to wait on God and ask him to meet with you – we believe he wants to do that! It’s also a great opportunity to pray for others and be involved in what God is doing in their lives. We have some ministry guidelines, and there will be an Enabling Team around to answer any questions you have, so don’t hang back – get stuck in!
We have a number of seminars in the mornings and afternoons tackling a whole range of subjects that will help us live out our faith in our everyday lives. In 2015 we were joined by Miriam Swaffield, Krish Kandiah, Tich & Joan Smith, Patrick Regan, Ness Wilson, Rachel & Jason Gardner, Chris Lane, Thom Jee, Rachel Jordan, Sarah Davis, Bob Wallington, Bishop Graham Cray, Jeannie Morgan, Claire Cooke, David Wilkinson plus many others. We’ll let you know the plans for 2016 nearer the time!
We tackled topics including being a Christian at university, the persecuted church, dealing with divorce, inner healing, being adopted by God, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, living a life of adventure, staying close to God in the tough times, the mission of God, justice, evangelism, hearing God speak, and dealing with anger. Plus we had a stream of seminars for youth leaders and a student welcome. You can download each of the talks from our shop for £1 each.
We have a whole host of venues for you to enjoy each afternoon and evening. Check this out!

No prizes for guessing that this venue is all about worship and it opens after the main meetings in the evening!
We’ll have some special one-off events that bring everyone together and though we can’t give you details just yet, we can show you the highlights from 2015 where we had a Silent Disco, a foam party, a bonfire night and a Christmas party!
We have four groups for the under 12s:
All groups have sessions each morning so parents can get to the main meetings and there is an additional evening session for those in the Breakout group. Each afternoon we open a Free Time Café from 3-5pm with toys and games for the little ones, and big cups of tea for you. We also show family-friendly films each night and have baby bathing facilities to make camping with nippers a little easier.
The Bath & West is a huge showground with plenty of space for thousands of us to gather. We’ve got a giant Big Top to host all of our morning and evening meetings!
The East of England Showground is in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and the postcode you need for your Sat Nav is PE2 6HE. It’s easily accessible from the A1 if you’re coming from the North or South and the A14 when coming from the East or West. The showground is 15 minutes by car or bus from Peterborough’s mainline station which is just a 45 minute journey from King’s Cross London.
Coming from overseas?
We’re so glad you’ll be joining us! The nearest airport is East Midlands, Birmingham, London Luton and London Stansted approximately 60-90 minutes away by car. If you’re having trouble working out your travel arrangements, you can always drop us an email and we’ll do our best to help.
We’ll post more info soon about on site and local shops. There will be places to exchange/buy ice packs and gas. We’ll also keep you posted about wifi arrangements and there will be places to charge your phone free of charge during the afternoons and evenings.
We’ll post some maps soon!
We want to make all of our summer events as accessible as possible to everyone so if you or someone in your group has any additional needs, please read the attached info to find out more about the provision we make. Please note this was our 2016 info and we’ll be updating it for 2017 in the coming months. The main thing to be aware of is that Weeks B and C will be at the Peterborough Arena not the Bath & West Showground. It would also be very helpful if a parent or group leader could complete this form when registering them for any special needs activities or children’s work. If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, please give us a call on 0303 1333 333.
