During the Easter holidays of 2018  from Tuesday 3rd – Saturday 7th April we will be taking part in a citywide mission in Bristol, under the banner of HOPE Bristol. This is an amazing opportunity to serve alongside local churches and organisations and bless the local community. We would love you to join the adventure!

If you live in or around Bristol and would like to find out about volunteering or hosting a team, or if you would like to give to or pray for the mission, check out the HOPE Bristol website.

HOPE Bristol is a fantastic way to put Jesus’ love into action, demonstrating the good news in our words and actions. Acts of service like this are a key part of our worship, following Jesus’ teaching on loving our neighbours and acting in alignment with God’s heart for his church to meet the needs of the world in any way we can. What we know from previous missional events in Manchester and London is that, as we go, God does something amazing in our hearts. It’s as we step out that we become more like Jesus, passionate about caring for those in need. Our hope and prayer is that we go back to our cities, towns and villages knowing that mission is a part of who we are and what God has called us to do.

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation.” Isaiah 52:7

What’s The Plan?

Everyone will be arriving on Tuesday evening with time to settle in before we kick things off with a celebration. Mike will be your host, with worship led by the Soul Survivor team. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we’ll start the days by meeting together for worship, teaching and ministry before heading out to our projects in and around the city to get stuck in and serve during the afternoons.

Local churches and organisations are working hard to find the places where we can be most useful so details will be confirmed nearer the time but projects will include things like putting on family fun afternoons, renovating school buildings, clearing overgrown public spaces, hosting afternoon teas for senior citizens, and organising football training and tournaments.

Evenings will be free to hang out in your accommodation hubs with locally organised food, games, sports, films and activities. On our last night there will be evangelistic events you can invite people to during the week. Our final day together will be the Saturday where we’ll spend the morning hosting community fun days before finishing with a final celebration in the afternoon.
