Our first aid team provide 24 hour first aid cover throughout Soul Survivor and Naturally Supernatural. They are a team made up of first aiders, nurses, paramedics and doctors (however if you are in a profession allied to medicine e.g. physios we would also love to hear from you!). The team is not only an opportunity to use your medical skills in a muddy field (well in the first aid centre in a muddy field) but it also gives you the opportunity to pray with delegates as well! Our first aid team work a shift system (8am-4pm, 4pm-midnight, midnight-8am) so expect to work 8 hours each day. You will spend your time divided between being a presence in the main meetings, responding to incidents all over site and working in the medical centre. You will need to provide your own tent, caravan or offsite accommodation but in return for your hard work we will provide you with an event pass and all your meals (dinner of Day 1 until breakfast of Day 6) – what more could you want!?
You must hold a current, relevant qualification and up to date indemnity cover. Documented evidence of this must be given to Soul Survivor before the event.
First aiders: The minimum requirement is a valid First Aid at Work qualification.
Nurses: NMC registration with recent acute experience and full registration with RCN or Unison.
Paramedics: Recognised UK qualification and current appropriate indemnity cover.
Doctors: Full GMC registration and indemnity with MDU/MPS (must be ST1 or above to get cover for Soul Survivor) – you must specifically tell them that you are volunteering for Soul Survivor to be indemnified.
You’ll also be required to apply for a DBS certificate before we can confirm your place on this team. Information will be sent to you when we process your initial application but if you already have a DBS with Soul Survivor that is less than three years old or you’re subscribed to the update service, then you won’t have to complete a new one – winner! Just drop us an email with the details and we can take it from there.
