Steward Week C

This is the best team to be on if you love fluorescent yellow – and who doesn’t?!
The stewarding team is a unique opportunity to work behind the scenes at Soul Survivor, carrying out tasks from stewarding the main meeting to changing signs on the information points. This team does a variety of jobs all over site and the smooth running of Soul Survivor depends on their hard work.

Stewards work on three different shifts to cover mornings, afternoons and evenings and no two days will ever be the same. As a steward you will be placed into a small team splitting your time between stewarding the main meetings, looking after the other venues (this includes health and safety checks) and being a part of the site crew. As a steward you will work around 10 hours a day but there will be breaks within that time!

There is also a daily stewards meeting with worship and a chaplain who meets with the team to pray with you. Your team, some great steward managers and the use of the steward’s lounge mean that you will soon become part of the Soul Survivor stewarding community.

You will need to provide your own tent, caravan or offsite accommodation but in return for your hard work we will provide you with an event pass and all your meals (breakfast of Day 1 until breakfast of Day 6) – what more could you want!?

EXTRA REQUIREMENTS
You’ll be required to apply for a DBS certificate before we can confirm your place on this team. Information will be sent to you when we process your initial application but if you already have a DBS/CRB with Soul Survivor that is less than three years old then you won’t have to complete a new one – winner! Just drop us an email with the certificate number and we can take it from there.

NIGHT STEWARDS

Can you stay awake, alert and happy all through the night? Could you (and a small team) keep a massive main meeting venue from being invaded by hundreds of wild-eyed teenagers at 2am? There’s a group of people at Soul Survivor who are only seen at night, spending their evenings patrolling the Soul Survivor site, ensuring the safety and security of all the sleeping delegates, and encouraging those that are not yet asleep to quieten down and head to bed!
You’ll patrol the site from 10pm until 8am and be linked closely with the Night Comms team who will be on the radios throughout your shift. So if you’re a night owl with a willingness to serve in a place that is often overlooked then the night stewarding team may be for you … don’t worry though, you will be provided with tea, coffee and food throughout the night to help you stay wide-eyed and bushy-tailed!

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE?

You’ll need to be 18 or over to join this team and don one of the mighty fluorescent yellow steward jackets!

WHEN WILL I NEED TO BE ON SITE?

We’ll need you to be on site by 7pm on Day 0 (the day before the event starts) for your meeting with the stewarding team. (You may wish to arrive in time to set up your tent before this meeting.) This is where you will collect your wristband and food pass, meet your team and find out loads more about the week so it’s really important that you attend.
If you’re stewarding during the day, you’ll be required on site until midday on Day 6 and if you’re on the night stewarding team, you’ll be free to go after your shift finishes at 8am on Day 6.

We need stewards at each week and you can apply online using our booking system. If you haven’t done so already, you will need to register with the system (using the box in the top right of the screen) and then login. Book a place on the event of your choice and choose the option to book as a team member. It’s completely free to volunteer with us so you won’t have to give any payment details.
