The ushering team are there to make sure that delegates are able to engage with God in a safe and secure environment during the main meeting.
Their role is to patrol the main meeting venue, balancing health and safety requirements such as people not bringing certain items into the main meeting, with sensitivity to older people and delegates with back problems etc. You need to be able to approach all different people and situations in a friendly, accessible manner.
You will arrive at the main meeting venue before the start of the service and have a meeting with the rest of the ushering team and other key people in the venue. You will then work through the main meeting and stay in the venue until all the delegates have left before having a quick debrief. You are required to work throughout all of the main meetings and so you should expect to work around 8 hours a day. You’ll need to have been on the ushering or stewarding team at least once before and be able to handle all types of situations from smiling happy delegates to delegates that don’t understand why they can’t bring in their camping chairs into the main meetings!
You will need to provide your own tent, caravan or offsite accommodation but in return for your hard work we will provide you with an event pass and all your meals (dinner of Day 1 until dinner of Day 5) – what more could you want!?
You’ll be required to apply for a DBS certificate before we can confirm your place on this team. Information will be sent to you when we process your initial application but if you already have a DBS/CRB with Soul Survivor that is less than three years old then you won’t have to complete a new one – winner! Just drop us an email with the certificate number and we can take it from there.
